More often then not, Autism is not something most are familiar with. And when you first suspect something is "wrong" with your child, you may have no idea that it could be Autism.

If your child is currently awaiting diagnosis, or has recently been diagnosed, you are probably feeling a million emotions at once. Confusion, anger, sadness, loss, denial- all of these are normal!! The greatest thing is that you have already started the process to seek help for your child. You have seen a doctor, or a psychologist. Your child may already be in a specialized educational program. You are on the internet, no doubt looking up as much information as you can on the subject!

As a mother having found herself in the same position not that long ago (my 3 yr old was just diagnosed), I have begun to soak up as much information on Autism as I possibly can. I want to share all the resources with you that I have found (that have been of help to me- and have been recommended to me by doctors, therapists, etc), but I'd love to ask others to please share their resources as well.

I don't know all there is to know about Autism, and maybe some of you parents can teach me a thing or two. Let this be a source of knowledge for all out there who need help.
